Characteristics of brucite mineral：

Brucite﹝Brucite﹞ [molecular formula：Mg (OH)2] is natural mineral with the highest magnesium content and rich in crystal water，when heated to 340°C, it will be resolved into MgO and produces a large amount of water vapor.﹝crystal chemistry﹞theoretic composition：MgO 69.12%, H2O 30.88%；

There are often impurities of Fe、Mn、Zn、 Ni existing in the way of same-phase. Layered structure, trigonal system, the single crystal shows thick plate shape, the scale aggregate is common; Fibrous aggregate, is called nemalite. The Mohs hardness is 2.5, density is 2.3-2.6, and the whiteness is above 90%.
